Catherine C. Hildenberger

November 1, 1917 — July 13, 2010

Catherine C. Hildenberger, 92, of Fountain Hill died on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Holy Family Manor.

She was born on November 1, 1917; the daughter of the late Harry and Catherine Egley Bender.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Atty. Joseph G. Hildenberger.

She attended Holy Ghost Grade School and was a 1935 graduate of Bethlehem High School.

Kay retired from the Lehigh University Chemical Engineering Dept. where she worked as a Secretary for the Graduate School.

She was a former parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church where she was a member of the Social Committee, participated as a Lector and assisted in making weekly mass bulletins. She was also known as "Aunt Kay" to a generation of preschoolers at Holy Ghost. More recently she was a parishioner of Holy Infancy Catholic Church.

Kay volunteered her time at St. Luke's Hospital where she proudly earned her 1000 hour pin. She was also a member of the 11th Women's Cursillo of Allentown.

Kay enjoyed baking and was happy to make thousands of kiffles at Christmas to present to family and friends and many have benefitted from all of the tiered cakes that she baked over the years.

She also enjoyed walking, hiking and tennis well into her 80's.

Kay will be lovingly remembered by her family, daughter, Catherine R. "Kate" Hildenberger and son, Martin J. Hildenberger both of Fountain Hill; brother, Harry Bender of Bethlehem as well as her granddaughter, Christine and her husband Peter J. Perdaems of Little Elm, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 16, 2010 from 6 to 9PM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem and again on Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 10AM at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Cancer Center 801 Ostrum St. Bethlehem, PA 18015 and/ or Holy Family Manor 1200 Spring St. Bethlehem PA 18018
