Catherine D. Reese Platia

Catherine D. Reese Platia, 94, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday, July 14, 2018. She was born October 22, 1923 in Bethlehem; daughter of the late Francis and Dolores (Heller) Hall. Catherine was preceded in death by her first husband, Reuben Reese and second husband, Angelo Platia.

Catherine worked as a seamstress in local mills for most of her career. She was quiet yet determined and loved to dance. Catherine found great joy in playing the boomba.

She is survived by her family, son, Francis Reese and wife, Crystal; daughter, Dolores Mahoney and husband, Timothy; step-children, Angela Heatter and husband, Joseph; Anne Marie Horn and husband, Kurt; and Samuel Platia; grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Wesley Reese; and siblings, Essie Lalo, Mary Steidinger, Amy Litz, Stewart Hall, Wesley Hall and Francis Hall.

The family will receive guests from 9:30-10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a service to celebrate Catherines life to follow. Catherine will then be buried with her first husband, Reuben, in Wind Gap, PA.
