Catherine E. Rothenberger

Catherine E. Rothenberger, 97, died peacefully surrounded by her family on June 5, 2013, on her birthday in Bethlehem. She was born in Hellertown, daughter of the late Herbert and Laura (Raub) Hoffert. Catherine was the devoted wife of 55 years to the late Forrest H. Rothenberger.

Kate worked in the offices of the Byron Jackson Co. of Bethlehem and New York City and Bethlehem Steel Corporation. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Hellertown, where she taught many years in Sunday School and served on many positions.

Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Susan J. Raab, and her husband, Randy, of Bethlehem; with whom she resided; son, Robert H. Rothenberger and his wife, Anita, of Allentown; her brother, Albert Hoffert and his wife, Janet, of Hellertown; sister-in-law, Lin Hoffert of Hellertown; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Flora Bachman; and her brother, Grant Hoffert.

She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan; enjoyed being around her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Service will be private and at convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church Sunday School Fund, 69 Main St., Hellertown, PA 18055.
