Catherine Frances Bodock

Catherine Frances Bodock, 86, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, January 13, 2017. She was born in Bethlehem; daughter of the late John and Anna (Batley) Bodock.

Catherine was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1948. In 1951, she earned her Nursing Degree from St. Lukes Nursing School. Upon graduation, Catherine proudly served as a nurse for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Sitka, Alaska between 1954 and 1956, caring for children with Tuberculosis. After 40 years of service as a Registered Nurse, Catherine retired from St. Lukes Hospital in 1992 where she served as a Head Nurse in the Pediatric Department as well as working in Maternity Care. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Catherine enjoyed traveling and hiking.

Catherine will be dearly missed by her sister, Bernadine Grow of Hellertown and her brother, John Bodock of Hamburg; nieces, Diane Luybli and her husband, Rich; Catherine Bodock Beam and her husband, John; nephews, David Grow and Michael Bodock and his wife, Lee; as well as three great-nephews and one great-niece.

A visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Lukes School of Nursing, C/O Development, 801 Ostrum St. Bethlehem, PA 18015.
