Catherine Kociolek

Catherine (Kraynak) Kociolek, age 88, passed away peacefully at Fellowship Community in Whitehall, PA on Friday, December 30, 2022. She was born in Weatherly, PA on January 11, 1934, the daughter of George and Anna (Mindala) Kraynak, the 11th of 13 children.

Catherine, affectionately known as Katie, graduated from Allentown High School and worked as a telephone operator. Ice skating was always one of her loves and she met her husband of 62 years, Anthony, on the ice at Albeth skating rink in Allentown. She raised three children in Bethlehem, enjoying simple pleasures like gardening and reading. Over the years, she found other joys in life such as traveling with her sisters, painting, square dancing, and bowling with the “Funettes”. Few things made her light up more than her grandchildren.

She will be lovingly remembered by daughter Carol, sons Anthony (Holly) and Martin (Tina), six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Paul. She was preceded in death by her loving husband; brothers George, Joe, Steve and Bill; and sisters Anna, Helen, Julia, Marge, Dorothy, Betty and Mary.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Alzheimers Association.
