Catherine Ortwein

Catherine (Cathy) Thomer Ortwein, beloved wife of the late Mathias J. Ortwein, loving mother of Matthew C. and the late Alan G. and Kurt W. Ortwein, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.

Cathy was an intelligent and elegant woman who supported her husband, a career diplomat with the U.S. Dept. of State, in his assignments in Germany, the Philippines, Dominican Republic, Mexico and the U.S. They retired to Miami Lakes, FL and then to Country Meadows of Bethlehem. Cathy lived at Country Meadows for 12 years.

Cathy is survived by her son, Matthew and wife, Linda of California, daughter-in-law, Mary of Kentucky, along with four grandchildren, two great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held for both Cathy & Mat at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Fountain Hill, on Saturday May 10th at 11:30 a.m.
