Catherine Irene (Dietrich) Recchio (84), longtime resident of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the Phoebe Home of Allentown. Catherine was born on July 24, 1940, to Catherine T. (Donchez) Dietrich and Russell F. Dietrich in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Catherine had multiple occupations during her lifetime, but her favorite was always that of mother and grandmother. Catherine worked as a secretary at Lehigh University, where she met her husband, Donald A. Recchio. She then worked for Hess's Department Store and the Bon-Ton Department Store as a makeup consultant, where she enjoyed making people feel as glamorous as she always was. Her favorite pastimes included prayer and bible study, reading, coloring, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was formerly a member of the St. John Capistrano Catholic Church, and an active member of the St. Anne Church of Bethlehem for many years.
Cathy, as she was affectionately known, lived her life with unwavering devotion to the Lord and allowed Him to use her as a bright light in the lives of others. She loved fiercely and unconditionally, and her memory will live on as a blessing for those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Recchio. She is survived by her four loving children, Donald A. Recchio of Easton, Pennsylvania; Beverly Anne R. Curtis of Allentown, Pennsylvania; Steven M. Recchio and wife Patricia (Mutarelli) Recchio of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Donna M. Mueller of Center Valley, Pennsylvania; and daughter-in-law Marie I. Weber of Allentown, Pennsylvania; as well as by her grandchildren, always referred to as her "Sweethearts", Stefanie C. Recchio (Stef), Alexandra C. Curtis (Alex), Rebekah E. Recchio (Bekah), Andrew M. Curtis (Drew), Steven A. Recchio (Stevie), Eric Jacob Mueller, and Anaia J. Mueller.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association of America or the St. Anne Church of Bethlehem. "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" -Isaiah 41:10.
