Cecilia "Cel" Zakeski

Cecilia “Cel” Zakeski, 86, of Bethlehem, PA died on Sunday morning, November 8, 2015 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. Born August 31, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Mizak) and Joseph Labuda. She married John Zakeski in a military wedding ceremony at Camp Cook, California on April 11, 1951.

Cel graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School. After graduation she attended Baltimore City Hospital Nursing Program in Baltimore, MD. Cel worked in the Cosmetic Department for Max Hess and Hess Brothers Department Store in Allentown until 1960. Following this, she became employed by the Purchasing/ Restaurant Department of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and received her award for 19 years of loyal service. She had a passion for music and singing, and served as a choir member for both her parish, Incarnation of Our Lord, and the Holy Infancy Church in Bethlehem for over 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, John, daughter, Mary Ann, sister, Agnes Stephan, 12 nieces and nephews and eight godchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Francis and sisters, Helen Galgocy and Mary Reisteter.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 E. Pierce St., Bethlehem, PA 18015 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery in Bethlehem.
