Cecilia Sanchez

Cecilia “Cece” Sanchez, 82, of Bethlehem, died Friday, June 3, 2016 at Manor Care in Bethlehem. Born June 14, 1933 in Patillas, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Francisca (Barbosa) Huertas. She was married to Simon Sanchez for 54 years until his death on March 31, 2014.

Cecilia worked for Forte Neckwear for 42 years. She was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church in Bethlehem where she was active in the Sacred Heart Society and the Cursillo Movement. Cecilia had a passion for gardening, sewing, crocheting and attending mass.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Miriam and her husband Quinton Douglas Howard, Sr. of Allentown; Miguel A. Sanchez of Lower Saucon; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Dougie Howard and Michelle and Melissa Sanchez, great grandchildren, Jaden, Cianni, Neesa, Jaylynn and one future great grandson, Dougie III, and a brother, Jenaro Huertas of Bethlehem. She was preceded in death by her son, Nelson P. Sanchez, brothers, Fautino, Claudino and Antonio Huertas and sisters, Benera, Arminia, Doratea Huertas and Felicita Rodriguez.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA from 7-9 p.m. and again Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. 4th St., Bethlehem at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions may be made in Cecilias name to Holy Infancy Church.
