Celesta Mary Yerger

Celesta Mary Yerger, 81, of Bethlehem passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021. She was born on April 14, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Skrobak) Voorhees. She was the widow of the late John D. Yerger. They started dating when they were 16 years old and were married on May 21, 1960.

Celesta attended St. John Capistrano Primary School and Liberty High School in Bethlehem. She loved going on cruises to the Bahamas, taking trips to Nashville, going to casinos and most of all, dancing to country music, Elvis Presley and the Beatles.

Celesta is survived by her sons, John Yerger and wife Michele of Kutztown, Christopher Yerger and wife, Sarah of Hellertown and Michael Yerger and wife Sarah of Fort Myers, FL., daughters, Julia Stoeckel and husband Timothy of Bethlehem and Katie Yerger of Northampton, grandchildren, Kimberly Stoeckel Search and husband Jon of Schnecksville, Timothy Stoeckel and wife Mandy of Palmerton, Alex Wachter and wife Julie of Freemansburg, Danielle Yerger and fianc Adam Pederson of Pennsburg, Christine Yerger and fianc Randy Johnsen of Bethlehem, Michelle Yerger De Lima and husband Leo of Bethlehem, and Sean Schaper of Northampton, great grandchildren, Riley, Emma, Landon, Clayton, Waylon, Emma and Hannah, step-grandchildren, Ashlee Knupp and husband Bruce and their sons Kaden and Dolan of Germansville and Austin Winter of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, brother, Edward Voorhes and wife Shirley of Bethlehem, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brother, Robert Voorhes and sister, Regina Kulp.

There will be a graveside service on Monday, June 28 at 11:00am at Bethlehem Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Connell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 322 N. Lauderdale St. Memphis, TN 38105.
