Charles D. Evans

Charles D. Evans, 78, formerly of Bethlehem, died Sunday April 25, 2010 at Gracedale Nursing Home. Born in Northampton on February 18, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna Fedor Evans. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bernadine Anderson Evans.

He was employed by Bethlehem Steel for 42 years as a carrier operator until retiring in 1992. He retired to Murrells Inlet, SC in 1995; as he loved the beach and spent lots of time enjoying the beach on a daily basis. He was member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bethlehem Township.

Charles had a passion for antique cars and restored many automobiles over his lifetime. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and achieved a national first place with his 1939 Chevy Opera Coupe.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Bernadine, son, Charles, III and wife, Debra, grandchildren, Christopher and Elizabeth Evans.
