Charles Edward "Ted" Lake passed away at 4:38 PM, Friday, February 17, 2012 at his home in Graham, N.C. He was the son of the late Charles Edgar Lake and EdnaWheeler Lake. He was a loving and cherished husband of 49 years to his wife Mary Ann Ure Lake.
Ted was with Bethlehem Steel Co. after his graduation from Duke University. Mid career he went with Alcan Aluminum and later started the joint venture Luxfer. Ted finished his work career by teaching for 5+ years
at Alamance Community College.
Like his father, Ted was active in boy scouts as an Eagle Scout, and later as a Scout leader. He was an active member of the Graham, NC Rotary club and a successful volunteer fund raiser for United Way.
Ted is survived by his wife, their sons, Charles Edward Lake Jr. and his wife Kim, Timothy Lawrence
Lake, his wife Heather, a granddaughter, Rhiannon, daughter, Heather Jaynes Lake Marcellino and
husband Andy.
He is also survived by his sisters Diane J Lake Smith, her husband Ron, and Kay Ann Lake Cook and her husband Don. Aunt Thelma Wheeler and cousins Marci, Jane, John, and Tim.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 10-11AM followed by a graveside service at Bethlehem Memorial Park
Cemetery at 11:30 AM. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of
Burlington, N.C. at a later date.
