Charles F. Konkolics, 85, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 11, 1926; the son of the late Stephen F. and Mary Horvath Konkolics.

Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Annabelle PoeKonkolics.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Charles was a graduate of Moravian College and later earned his Master's Degree from New York University.

After a 40+ year career in retailing, Charles retired as a Manager of Jamesway where he worked for over 20 years. Charles owned several small businesses and was active in his children's sports activities.

Charles was a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bethlehem. He was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club in Tamaqua as well as the Knights of Columbus, Trinity Council 313.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Annabelle; sons, Charles J. and his wife, Tricia; John and his wife Jeanelle; Stephen and his wife, Karen; David and his wife Malisa and his daughter, Melodie Gallagher and her husband Kevin. He will also be dearly missed by his sister Dorothy, wife of the late John Robert Seversen; 21 grandchildren; a great grandson as well as nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret, wife of the late Francis Thompson, Anne wife of the late Robert Reese and Mary Konolige and his niece, Sharon Seversen and her husband Reiner Aberer.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 6-8:30 PM at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 and again on Thursday from 8:30-9:30 AM in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Thursday at St. Anne's Catholic Church 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Interment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of St. Luke's 1510 Valley Center Parkway Suite 200 Bethlehem, PA 18017 and/ or the church.
