Charles Mellick, of Bethlehem passed away January 11, 2012.

He was the husband of Mary Lou Mellick for 30 happy years.

Charles was born in St. Clair, PA May 25, 1926; son of the late Mary and Charles Mulick Mellick and stepson of the late Waysel Tyciak.

Charles graduated from Whitehall High School in 1944. He was an Army veteran and proudly served his country during WWII.

He started his long career and his love of cars by owning a gas station at Front and Tilghman Sts. in Allentown in the 1940s. Charles then owned Mell Auto Sales for many years and at the time of his death he owned Adams Brothers, Inc.

Charles was a long time parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Mary Lou; stepchildren, Robert Whisler and his wife Bonnie; Elizabeth Stevenson and her husband Richard and Suzanne Conklin and her husband Richard as well as his grandchildren, Richard, Eddie, Michael, Joseph, Nancy and William. He is also survived by his stepsisters, Anna Kalata and Jennie Pecsek and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Stanley and his sister Sue.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 7-9 PM at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 and again on Saturday from 11AM-12:15 PM in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM on Saturday at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
