Charles Pardo

January 1, 1931 — August 25, 2008

Charles Pardo, 77, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, August 25th surrounded by his family. Born in Egypt, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Katherine Pardo. He was the loving husband of Mary Pavolko Pardo; they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this past May 7th.

Mr. Pardo worked for Bethlehem Steel as a Senior Field Engineer in the construction and maintenance planning at the Bethlehem plant. He retired after 35 years of service. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force as a Flight Engineer and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He was a member of the American and Hellertown Legions, a charter member of the Silver Creek Country Club, past member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers and the Catholic Sokols. He also volunteered with many catholic charities. Growing up, Charles had a very strong passion for baseball and lettered in High School. He continued his passion and was heavily involved with Northeast Little League, the Teener League and Legion Baseball. He received the President's Award of the Northeast Little League.

Charles will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary, his son, Charles J. Pardo & his wife Kristy of Indiana; daughters, Marirose, wife of Thomas Billheimer of North Carolina; Suzanne, wife of David Nehilla of Tennessee; Charlotte, wife of Peter Franz of Bethlehem; Nancy, wife of Ray Albinger of Florida; Bethanne, wife of Morey Doyle of Florida; sister, Helen, wife of Alfred Eberhardt of Northampton; grandchildren-Thomas C. & Elizabeth Billheimer, Sherri & Christi Nehilla, Andrew, Mark & Melissa Franz, Trey, Charlie & Max Albinger, Molly, Madison & Charlianne Pardo and Mary & Sarah Doyle.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John & Michael Pardo and sisters, Katie Pardo & Anna Kotich.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem. Visitation will be from 8:00-10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem.

Memorials may be made to St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18017 or St. Luke's Cancer Center care of Dr. Lee Riley's Research Fund, 801 Ostrum St. Bethlehem, PA 18015.
