Charles R. Baron

Charles R. Baron, 97, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Bartos) Baron. He was the loving husband of the late Helen (Ackerman) Daniels Baron who passed away in 2001. Charles was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Company for 36 years. He was a veteran of WWII. He served 5 years in the US Army Infantry in the South Pacific where he was a prisoner of war for 3-1/2 years in Japan. He was a member of the Assumption BVM Catholic Church in Colesville.

He is survived by a brother Michael Baron and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by step-children, Dorothy Daniels, Franklin Daniels, and Grace Hunsucker; step-grandson, Eugene Hunsucker; brothers, John, Joseph, Andrew, Frank, Steve, and William Baron; and sisters, Anna Pribulka, Sophie Kresge, and Agnes Lipsky.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A viewing will be held in the Assumption BVM Catholic Church, Colesville, on Wednesday Sept. 19th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Colesville, PA 18015.
