Charles R. Johnson

Charles R. Johnson, 86, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, July 18, 2014. He was born June 26, 1928 in New York; son of the late Charles Johnson and Margaret (Gavin) Wallace. Charles was married to the late Mary F. Johnson.

Charles proudly served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. Upon returning home, he worked as a railroad detective and later retired as a Lieutenant from the New Jersey Transit Police.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Scott Johnson and his wife, Carin of Bethlehem Twp. and their children, Gavin and Morgan; and Marc Johnson of Bethlehem and his son, William as well as a sister, Audray Sheahan.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 10-11 AM followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Jersey Transit Policemens Benevolent Association, PO Box 1082 Rahway, NJ 07065.
