Charles W. Guditus

October 5, 1924 — January 22, 2014

Charles W. Guditus, 89, of Allentown, died on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Fellowship Terrace in Whitehall. He was born in Gilberton, PA; son of the late Stanley and Anna (Stefero) Guditus. He was the devoted husband of Stella (Gumrot) Guditus; they were married 65 years.

Charles received his B.S. from Penn State, his M.S. from Bucknell and his Ed.D. from Lehigh University. He served as Superintendent of Schools for the Frackville Area School District from 1962-1965. He became a Professor at Lehigh University in 1965. He served as Chairman of the Department of Administration and Supervision. He remained at Lehigh until his retirement in 1986 and was granted Professor Emeritus status. He was also an accomplished author in his field. He was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran who served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres. He was a member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Bethlehem.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Stella; children, Gregory and his wife, Patricia, Jean, wife of James Calpas, and Tamara, wife of the late Blaine House; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Helen Lahutsky.

All funeral services will be held privately.
