Charlotte Scurry

Charlotte Scurry, 89, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday October 20, 2006 at St. Luke?s Hospital.

She was born in West Nanticoke, PA; the daughter of the late Louis and Ethel Nelson.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, David J. Scurry.

She served her community as a nursery school teacher at the YWCA for nine years and as a Sunday school teacher for Trinity Episcopal Church for many years.

Charlotte will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Rebecca S. Barrett and her husband Michael of Dobbs Ferry, NY; Sister, Margie Davidson of Freemansburg; and niece Jane Michael as well as several nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was very active; she volunteered her time to help mentally challenged people in her community and gave presentations on the Bible Dolls which she enjoyed to make.

A Viewing will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem on Monday October 23, 2006 from 7-9PM. A service to celebrate Charlotte?s life will be held on her Wedding Anniversary date of Tuesday October 24, 2006 at 10 AM in the funeral home.

Charlotte enjoyed flowers very much and the family encourages flowers to be sent to the funeral home on Monday.
