Cheryl Hoffman Corsa

May 5, 1951 — June 16, 2021

Cheryl Hoffman Corsa, 70, of Hanover Township, died Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in her home. Born in Concord, NC, she was the daughter of Emmeline Ungurian Lewis Dimmick and step-daughter of the late Dr. W. Deming Lewis. She was married to S. James Corsa, with whom she celebrated 46 years of marriage this past August 17th.

Cheryl was passionate about learning. She graduated from Moravian Preparatory School and went on to earn a Bachelors of Arts in biology from Vassar College in 1973 and a Master of Arts in education from Lehigh University in 1975. She then worked as a science teacher from 1974 to 1981 in the Allentown School District. Later in life, she earned her Juris Doctorate from Concord Law School and passed the California Bar in 2008.

Cheryl spent most of her career as a political consultant and helped elect many Pennsylvania Republicans. She was the Chair of the American Association of University Womens book fair in 1982, an officer of the Childrens Theatre in Bethlehem from 1986 to 1989, Vice Chairman of the Hanover Township Planning Commission from 1988 to 1989 and was a member of the Junior League in the Lehigh Valley where she served as president from 1987 to 1988 - receiving the Outstanding Volunteer Award in 1986 - and was an active parent volunteer with Pennsylvania Youth Theater.

Cheryl was a life-long fan of theater and music; she acted in student plays, played piano and organ in her spare time, and frequently attended performances. She and her family traveled extensively, taking road trips to national parks and touring Europe. She was an avid reader, especially of classics, history, and mysteries. One of her favorite pastimes was driving her convertible with the top down, no matter the weather or time of year.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jim, mother Emmeline, son Andrew, son Michael and his partner Tina Kemp, brother Thomas Hoffman, aunt Giz Smolinsky, sister-in-law, Pamela J. Corsa, and step-sisters Linda Lewis Maricondia and Caroline Lewis Mehlenbeck and their families.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
