Chester A. Bykowski

February 10, 1928 — June 30, 2016

Chester A. Bykowski, 88, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 30, 2016. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Grebinski) Bykowski. He was the loving husband of Irene (Belchunes) Bykowski; they were married 66 years.

Chester was employed by Durkee for 35 years. He was a proud veteran of the Army, having served in the Korean War, and a lifetime member of the Allentown VFW. He was a faithful parishioner of the Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Irene; sisters-in-law, Eileen Bykowski, Rita Husty, Ann Darby and Mary Ann Belchunes; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Edward and Ronald; and aunt, Katherine Grebinski.

Visitation will be held in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, on Wednesday, July 6, from 9 to 10 a.m. A 10:30 Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or The Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia.
