Christopher P. Detrixhe

August 22, 1971 — March 20, 2023

Christopher P. Detrixhe, 51, of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, with his loving family by his side.

Born on August 22, 1971, he was a son of Julius and Linda (Megenhardt) Detrixhe, III.

A graduate of Moravian Academys Class of 1989, Chris went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College of Chicago, as well as a dual Bachelor of Arts from the Art Institute of Chicago.

Chris enjoyed a lengthy career as a bartender. He held employment with Youre Welcome Inn, Beef House at the Westgate Mall, where he also served as General Manager, but found the most enjoyment with his current position at Bethlehem Volunteer Firemans Home Association.

Outside of work, Chris had varied interests: he was an avid traveler, excelled in photography, was an exceptional movie buff (particularly those in the Marvel Universe and D.C. franchises), took pleasure in video games, enjoyed Punk Bands such as Drop Kick Murphy and the Ramones, and found comfort in the voice of John Denver. His favorite John Denver song was “Wild Montana Skies.” During the Halloween season, he and his wife, Sherry, enjoyed dressing up for festivities. In his youth, he played lacrosse and was an avid skier.

He is preceded in death by his sister: Julianne Marie Detrixhe; maternal grandfather: Daniel F. Megenhardt; paternal grandparents: Julius and Margaret Detrixhe; sister-in-law: Tabatha Detrixhe; and nephew: Kristopher Longley.

Christopher will be lovingly remembered by his wife of five years: Sherry Longley, to whom he wed on February 19, 2018; sons: Bryan Genesky and Christopher J.W. Detrixhe; daughter: Ayla M. Genesky; parents: Julius and Linda Detrixhe, III; brother: Julius W. Detrixhe, IV; maternal grandmother: Shirley A. Megenhardt; mother-in-law: Gloria Longley; brothers-in-law: Scott Longley (Pambi) and Steven Longley (Angela); nephews: Aaron Longley and Julian M.W. Detrixhe; nieces: Heaven I.W. Detrixhe and Marlayna Longley; uncle: Dan J. Megenhardt; and his beloved cat: Gwennie.
