Cimmie J. DePriest, 79, of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022. She was born on February 27, 1943, the daughter of the late Jane (Ayre) and John C. Ruhf. For 45 years, she was the loving wife of the late Nicholas A. DePriest.
Cimmie proudly served her country as a member of the United States Army. While stationed at Fort Sam in Houston, TX she met and married the love of her life, Nicholas. She worked as an insurance agent for the Bartos Agency for many years. Cimmie was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she was active in Sunday school and the Worship committee. Once she moved to Cedarbrook, Fountain Hill, she was President of Cedarbrooks Resident Council and spent a lot of her time teaching residents to crochet, creating items for Cedarbrooks bazaars and knitting hats for preemies in the ICU. Cimmies creations won numerous blue ribbons at the Great Allentown fair.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Jason E. DePriest and his wife, Marie of Bethlehem; daughter, Tammie J. Fowler and her husband, Chris of South Carolina; daughter-in-law, Desi DePriest of Louisiana; brother, John C. Ruhf, Jr. and his wife, Carey of Bethlehem; 6 grandchildren, Tylah Newhall and Mike Grazer of Allentown, Brianna and AJ Necessary of Whitehall; Samantha, Aiden, Michael and Dylan; and 3 great-grandchildren, Tessa, Travis and Delaney. Cimmie was preceded in death by her son, John A. DePriest.
