Clyde Frederick Long

Clyde Frederick Long, age 84, of Allentown, PA passed away on January 5, 2024. He was born on May 2, 1939, in Sellersville PA. The youngest of six children, preceded in death by Joseph N. Long & Myrtle Agnes (Frederick)Long. Siblings Edna, Ella, Pauline, Joseph W & surviving sister Sevilla (Tootsie). He graduated from Liberty High class of 1957. Employed by Bethlehem Steel for 27 yrs. from 1957-84 as Senior Benefits Representative. Retirement didn’t suit Clyde, so he became Co-Owner & Operator of The Mailroom of Allentown from 1985-2007.

As a lifelong bachelor, he is also survived by his nieces, nephews, their children & dear friends who came into his life, Nancy Halla-Orbann & Kelly Ann Haynes.

Clyde was a member of The NY Yankees club & enjoyed bowling most of his life on numerous teams. He loved his pets Magic and Molly dearly. As a lifelong pet owner, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Animals in Distress or the Allentown Rescue Mission in memory of Clyde F. Long.

A viewing will be held from 10-11am Saturday January 13, 2024, at the Connell Funeral, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem PA 18018 followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11am. The burial will be held at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
