Danette Marie Koons

Danette Marie Koons, 55, of Bethlehem, died unexpectedly on September 24, 2021 at her home. She was born in Allentown on October 11, 1965; daughter of Eisdell (Burgess) Spanitz and the late John Spanitz. Danette was the devoted wife of 22 years to her husband, William Michael Koons, Jr. The two created wonderful memories together.

Danette will be lovingly remembered as a kind, giving, and dependable woman with a heart of gold. She was strong and at times unbending in her opinions and that made her special. Danette dedicated her life to her family, always putting them first. She especially had an unbreakable bond with her mother and Danette was so proud to be the mother of her daughters, Victoria Katelin Koons and Siobhan Kalin Koons. She appreciated all things Celtic and her favorite color was green. Danette was a marvelous cook and even better baker. She would take a week off from work around Christmas to bake for family and friends. She meticulously cut pieces of her famous pumpkin roll and lined the cookies on the tray to make the greatest presentation. Danette enjoyed music and was sure to watch General Hospital daily. She is loved.

In addition to her mother, husband, and daughters, Danette will be dearly missed by her sisters, Terese Haas and Denise Bodish; her brother, John Spanitz, Jr.; parents-in-law, William M. Koons, Sr. and Mary Louise Koons; nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 10-11 a.m. with a service to immediately follow in the funeral home. Entombment will be held at Cedar Hill Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity on one's choice in honor of Danette.
