Daniel A. D'Amico, age 96, of Coopersburg, PA, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024. Born on November 6, 1928, in Bethlehem, PA, Daniel was the beloved son of the late Salvatore and Laura (Schelbo) D'Amico.
Daniel was blessed to share 76 beautiful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Barbara M. (Churetta) D'Amico. They were married on November 6, 1948, a day that marked both Daniel's wedding and his 20th birthday-a date forever cherished in their hearts.
A proud veteran, Daniel served his country with honor as a Seaman 1st Class in the United States Navy during World War II. Stationed aboard the USS North Carolina, he upheld a legacy of courage and dedication that would define his life.
After his honorable discharge, he began a long and loyal career with the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. For 46 years, he worked tirelessly, first in Ingot Mold Foundry and later as a skilled bricklayer, a role he held for over four decades until his retirement in 1990. Daniel's steadfast work ethic and camaraderie were admired by all who knew him, and he was a proud member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 2600.
Those who knew Daniel remember him as a quiet man who always wore a warm smile. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like flying kites, and was a gifted artist who poured his heart into creating intricate birthday and holiday cards. Each card, carefully crafted over months, was a work of art treasured by those who received it.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Barbara; his son, Salvatore S. D'Amico, and wife, Linda; his daughter, Debra Stock, and husband, Richard; and his son, Daniel D'Amico, and wife, Debbie. Daniel's legacy of love extends to his nine cherished grandchildren, Dolores, Jason, John, Brian, Dan, John John, Sam, Nick, and Chris; his beloved great-grandchildren, Todd, Tyler, Brianna, Madelyn, Jaylen, Madison, Maia, Taylor, Brayden, Reece, Camryn, Mason, and Max; and his great-great grandchildren, Atreyu, and Emabran.
Daniel was preceded in death by his son, John J. D'Amico; great grandson, Jake; and siblings, Vincent D'Amico, Joseph D'Amico, Rose McKelvey, and Thomasina D'Amico.
