David R. Brackenbury, 39, of Bethlehem, PA tragically lost his long battle with bipolar disorder on April 20, 2018. He was a 1998 graduate of Freedom High School and attended Keene State College in NH. A golf-lover with an eye for perfect fairway lines and close-cut greens, he was employed as greens-staff at courses from New Hampshire to Michigan to the Lehigh Valley, and most recently at Morgan Hill Golf Club in Easton.
When remembering David, his family recalls his sharp sense of humor, his love of live-music and his devotion to the Philadelphia Eagles, whose 2018 Super Bowl win was a highly anticipated victory.
A kind soul and loyal friend, David possessed a unique compassion for those less fortunate, who suffered or were challenged, that stemmed from his own experience of emotional pain.
He is survived by his parents, David and Joanne Brackenbury of Bethlehem, his sister Sara Brackenbury (Panos Tharouniatis) of Ann Arbor, MI, his twin sister Alison Correll (Jonathan Correll) of Exeter Twp., PA, and his beloved nieces and nephew Ivy, Isadora, Fiona, and Andrew.
Released from his earthly suffering, he will remain deeply loved by those left behind who believe he is finally at peace.
A memorial service will be held at The Cathedral Church of the Nativity, 321 Wyandotte St. in Bethlehem on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can made in Davids memory to the Lehigh Valley chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) or Peaceable Kingdom Animal Shelter in Whitehall.
