David T. Salgado

David T. Salgado, 72, of Bethlehem passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday August 17, 2006 at Muhlenberg Hospital.

He was born in Bethlehem, the son of the late Jose G. and Helen Salgado.

David is survived by his wife Florence A. Salgado of Bethlehem.

He retired in 1995 from the Bethlehem Steel Co. after 43 years of service as a Millwright and Welder.

David will be lovingly remembered by his family, sons, Fred, David, Paul, and Gary Salgado and Daughters Venus Decker and Vesta Ackernecht; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; as well as two nephews Augustine Romero and Raymond Torres and Brothers Paul and Salvador Salgado.

He is also survived by his step sons, Maynard Neith, Raymond and Darryl Dillman and step daughter Barbara Garced, as well as eight step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death his first wife Gloria E. Salgado; sisters, Jane Romero and Mary Torres, and brothers, Russell, Raymond, and Joseph as well as step son Terry Dillman, a Step granddaughter, Jessica and step grandson Nigel.

David enjoyed playing soccer with the Mexican Club and was inducted into the Lehigh Valley Soccer Hall of Fame.

He enjoyed nature and was an avid fisherman, hunter, boater, and camper. He also loved music and playing softball. David especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Viewing will be held Tuesday August 22, 2006 Tonight from 6-9PM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem and again on Wednesday August 23, 2006 from 8-9:15 AM at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 23, 2006 at 10AM at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
