Dhirajchandra T. Joshi

Dhirajchandra T. Joshi, 84, of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at his home. He was born January 27, 1930 in Kampala, Uganda; one of four children born to Trambaklal K and Vrajkuvar Joshi. Dhirajchandra is reunited with his “sweetheart” Manjula in heaven. Dhirajchandra came to the United States in 1971 as a penniless refugee but he embodied the American spirit and through hard work and perseverance he brought his family to the States. He put his three children through college, teaching them values such as honesty, compassion, work ethic and independence. His many amazing experiences and escapades made for great stories. He was very highly regarded and a joy to be around. He retired from the Philadelphia Bethlehem and New England Railroad Company where he worked as an accountant for 23 years.

Dhirajchandra is lovingly remembered by his children, Bharatkumar D. Joshi and his wife, Rohini of Hanover Twp., Medhavini J. Vyas and her husband, Janak of Yardley, PA and Manish D. Joshi and his wife, Jennie of Morristown, NJ; as well as his six grandchildren, Bhavesh and his wife, Neelam, Perryne and her husband Chintan, Shivani, Kaetan, Juliana and Kian.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with words of remembrance being shared at 12:30 p.m. at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dhirajchandras honor to the American Cancer Society 3893 Adler Place, Suite 170, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
