Dolores A. Sopko

Dolores A. Sopko, 75, of Bethlehem Township, died Thursday October 4, 2012 at the St. Luke's Hospice House. She was born on February 26, 1937 in Bethlehem daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Petanovics) Durner. She was the wife of John R. Sopko. They were married for 39 years.

Dolores was an elementary school teacher in the Bethlehem Area School District retiring in 1972. She was a member of the NEA and BEA. She was a graduate of Moravian College with a B.S. degree in elementary education and a member of the Phi Mu Epsilon Fraternity. She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Whitehall, Pa. After retirement Dolores enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts and collecting angels.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John, maternal aunt, Tillie Petruno of Hellertown, sister in law, Linda Sopko of Allentown, and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30AM Tuesday October 9, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church 618 Fullerton Ave. Whitehall, Pa. 18052. A viewing will be held from 7-9PM Monday evening at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. Entombment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem, PA.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church or to a charity of ones choice.
