Domingo “Mingo” Alvarado, 92, of Bethlehem passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in his home with his family by his side. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Narcisa Sanchez and Epifanio Alvarado. He was the loving husband of Nilda (Quinones) Alvarado for over 50 years.
Domingo served his country as a career man in the Merchant Marines and he also served in the US Army during WWII. After retirement he went on to work for IMPACT where he was very dedicated. Domingo was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church in Bethlehem.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Nilda, daughters, Abigail Druet, Betzaida Pezua and Arlene Ortiz and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maribel Alvarado.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6-9 PM and again Saturday from 8:30-9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. 4th St., Bethlehem, PA 18015 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Memorial Cemetery, Allentown, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made in Domingos name to Holy Infancy Catholic Church.
