Donald A. Panick

Donald A. Panick, 84, of Hellertown, Pa. passed away Thursday March 14, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 17, 1928 in Bethlehem, son of the late Andrew and Marian (Shields) Panick. He was the husband of Julia (Menio) Panick. They celebrated 59 years of marriage on October 24, 2012.

Donald worked in the engineering department for Bethlehem Steel, and was very proud of working on the plans for the World Trade Center. He also worked in management at Hellertown Manufacturing. Donald was a veteran of the US Army serving during peacetime. He served on the Hellertown Borough Council. Donald was very devoted to his family and was also an avid reader, gardener, and loved sports.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Julia, daughters, Julia Garvin and husband Walter; Donna Hartman and husband James; and son James Panick and wife Sandra; and brother, Andrew Panick and wife Gerry; and grandchildren, Nicholas, Lucas, Andrew, Kevan, Emily, and Rachel.

He was predeceased by his son, Robert Panick and wife, Donna Mingora Panick.

A Memorial Mass will be held 10:30am on Monday March 18, 2013 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church 1408 Easton Rd. Hellertown, Pa. 18055. Calling hours will be held from 6-8pm Sunday evening at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. Burial will be held at St. Josaphat's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Theresa's Catholic Church or to St. Luke's Hospice Development Office, 801 Ostrum St., Bethlehem, PA 18015.
