Donald Lewis Potts

March 6, 1947 — July 15, 2022

Donald Lewis Potts, 75, of Bethlehem, PA passed away Friday, July 15th. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Levern C. Potts and Doris Ruth (Young) Potts. Don was the devoted husband of Pam Potts, to whom he was married 51 years.

An incredibly generous and involved father and grandfather, Don was a vocal supporter of his familys accomplishments in sports, school and life. If he wasnt driving one grandson to a tennis tournament or watching another in a theater performance, he was giving endless amounts of his time to help family, friends, and his community.

A graduate of Liberty High School and Northampton Community College, Don worked most of his life in industrial sales, specializing in adhesive packaging. At the time of his passing, he was the Vice President at Global Film Source.

Don was also an owner of Northwood Racquet & Fitness Club in Easton, PA. Whether greeting clients with a smile at the front desk, sharing donuts with the Saturday morning crowd, or cheering on kids at tennis tournaments, Don was everyones biggest fan.

His Northwood journey began in the early 1980s as an avid racquetball player. Becoming an owner in 1984, Don introduced his son to tennis that year, sparking a lifelong passion and eventual career path for him.

Passionate about Lehigh Valley tennis for almost 40 years, Don raised money for and ran a Community Tennis Association. He could be seen dragging nets, balls and his son to area tennis courts, schools and community events to share his passion for tennis with all.

He served on the USTA Middle States Eastern PA District Council for several years, including as President. He received the Eastern Pennsylvania District Presidents Award in 2010 and 2017. In 2016, he won USTA Middle States Family of the Year.

Don is lovingly remembered by his wife Pam; son Matthew and his wife, Amy; his grandchildren Tommy and Noah; and a large extended family of brothers and sisters in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
