Donald J. Oravec

Donald J. Oravec, 94, of Bethlehem, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus. He was the husband of Dolores L. (Marcinko) Oravec. Donald was born in Bethlehem on February 16, 1930 to the late John and Anna (Polenchar) Oravec. He was a member of Saints Simon & Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Donald worked for Haldeman Ford, Allentown for many years until retiring in 1993. He was a dedicated auto technician who took great pride in his work and craftsmanship. Beyond his professional endeavors, Donald had a passion for building dollhouses and model airplanes, cooking, writing recipes, practicing yoga, and enjoying bike rides.

Survivors: In addition to Dolores, his wife of 74 years; children: Donna Jean (Raymond) Becker of Bethlehem Twp., Diane (Douglas) Reed of Lee Summit, MO, Denise (Paul) Beverly of Ridgeway, SC, David (Cindy) Oravec of Palmer Twp., Doris (Donald Sledz) Oravec of Bethlehem, Dorothea Graser of Bethlehem; brother: Gerald (Carol) Oravec of VA; sister: Rosemary (Wilbur) Lilly of Bethlehem; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by a granddaughter: Hannah Graser.

Services: Friends and family are invited to his viewings from 6-8pm Tuesday, October 29, 2024 and 10-11am Wednesday, October 30, 2024 both at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem.
