Dorothy E. Martin

Dorothy E. (Long) Martin, 91, of Bethlehem, died Sunday, March 20, 2016. Born June 18, 1924 in Hellertown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Hulak) Long. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, George A. Martin.

Dorothy worked several years at Wiley House where she gave so much to the children. She loved animals, decorating, and floral arranging and was a wonderful cook and baker. Dorothy was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

She dedicated her life to her family and will be dearly missed by her daughter, Danette Michalgyk and her husband, John of Bethlehem; son, Barry Martin and his wife, Nancy of Kutztown; two grandchildren, Michael Michalgyk, Andrea Tabaka and her husband Douglas; two great grandchildren, Scott and Adriana Tabaka; her sister, Frances, wife of the late Vince Pagano and her brother, Gerald Long and his wife Jill. Dorothy was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret Laubach, Julia Musgnung, Helen Medei and George and Edward Long.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. all at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 417 Carlton Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the no kill animal shelter of ones choice.
