Dorothy H. Straub

Dorothy H. Straub, 91, of Bethlehem died, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. Born July 20, 1926 in Easton she was the daughter of the late Gertrude (Kresch) and Frederick Bechtel. She was the devoted wife to Robert Straub for 71 years.

Dorothy grew up in Easton where she was a former member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and was a 1944 graduate of Easton High School. Before starting a family Dorothy worked at Stewarts Silk Mill in Easton as a silk inspector. When she and her husband started their family Dorothy dedicated herself to her family. Later she and Robert moved to Bethlehem where they joined Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bethlehem. She was a very giving person who loved to cook and bake.

Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, son, Steven Straub and wife Terri, daughters, Christine wife of Patrick Connell and Suzanne wife of Rick Bowers; grandchildren, Anne wife of Captain Rolando Ramirez, USN, Nicholas Connell, Matthew Connell, Jennifer wife of Zach Krage, Amy wife of Derek Broadmeyer, Christian Straub and wife Nicole; great grandchildren; Allison, Ben, Daniel, Samantha and Lola. Dorothy was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Schaeffer and Geraldine Castranova.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020 from 11 AM to 12PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Manor 1200 Spring St., Bethlehem, PA 18018
