Dorothy K. Phillippi

Dorothy K. Phillippi, 102, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday November 26, 2011 at Kirkland Village. Born in New York City on April 11, 1909; she was the daughter of the late Harry and Marie Fery Kolbe. She was the wife of the Philip F. Phillippi who died in 1982. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Kolbe.

She studied dance for 14 years in New York City, operated a children's dance studio for 15 years in West Chester County, N.Y., and then taught choreography for the B.A.S.D. for 19 years. She was employed by the Bethlehem Y.W.C.A. as the program director for 15 years, retiring in 1966. Was one of the founders of the former "Traveleers" and a founder and volunteer of the former Triangle Club. She owned and operated the Dorothy K. Phillippi Travel Tours for 42 years, organizing worldwide tours for people in the Lehigh valley. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, where a viewing will be held on Tuesday November 29th from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, 18020. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
