Earl G. Johnson

July 16, 1915 — November 9, 2010

Mr. Earl G. Johnson, 95 formerly of Freemansburg died Tuesday afternoon at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem, Pa.

Earl was the loving husband of Helen Dehelker they celebrated their 73rd Anniversary May 1st.

Born in Easton, PA he was the son of the late Harry and Bella Johnson.

Earl worked for the Bethlehem Steel Company as a Bar Turner in the Rolling Mills for many years retiring in 1977. He was a member of AFL-CIO Local 2599 and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles in Bethlehem.

He and his wife are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bethlehem Township where he had served as an usher for many years.

Mr. Johnson was the 2nd oldest resident of Freemansburg.

Earl always brought a smile with him and was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather enjoying many of the family's activities.

Surviving with his wife is his daughter Helen, wife of Joseph "Jody" Silvester of Hanover Twsp., his granddaughter, Karen, wife of Dr. Matthew Bartelt of Bethlehem Twp.; his great-grandchildren, Ryan and Colin and his sister, Blanche Getz, of Bangor, PA.

Services; A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 12 p.m. at Holy Family Manor Chapel, 1200 Spring St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Visitation will be from 11- 11:45 a.m. in the chapel.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Manor.
