Earl W. Dredge

Earl W. Dredge, 83, of Bethlehem, PA died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. Born March 24, 1929 in Bethlehem he was the son of the late Teresa E. (Beckert) and Earl M. Dredge. He was married to Lucille (Lawrence) Dredge for 58 years.

Earl was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School. He was employed by his father at Earl M. Dredge and Sons Plumbing & Heating for 15 years until he became the owner from 1962 to 1982. He later went on to become a plumbing inspector for Fountain Hill, the City of Bethlehem and Freemansburg. He was a member of Master Plumbing Association of Bethlehem for 52 years.

Earl served his country in the US Amy in the infantry during the Korean War. He was a member of the Hellertown American Legion Post 397, Knights of Columbus, Holy Cross Council 4754 previously serving as Treasurer, Lehigh Valley Assembly as a 4th Degree Knight, Ss. Simon and Jude Seniors and also Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille, sons, Dennis and wife Sandra of Allentown and Brian and wife Jody of Whitehall, daughter, Susan and husband Daniel of Wescosville, sisters, Mary Hambor and husband William and Josephine Rogacs and husband Louis. Earl will also be remembered by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Henry and Albert Dredge.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church 730 W. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 10-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home, Inc.
