Edward B. Poplasky

February 28, 1917 — December 31, 2008

Edward B. Poplasky, 91, of Bethlehem Township, died on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at St.Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. He was born in Edwardsville, PA and was the son of the late Anthony and Julia Zalokowski Poplasky. Edward is the husband of Helen L. Wickham Poplasky of Bethlehem Township and celebrated their 61st anniversary this past August.

Edward worked for Bethlehem Steel Co in various departments last working in the #342 Trucking Department as a truck driver retiring in 1983 after 30 years service. He served in the U.S.Army during WW II in the Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe Campaigns. He received the European African and Middle Eastern Theater Ribbons and four bronze stars. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Hellertown and a member of the C.B. Sidekicks Lehigh Valley Area and a member of the Delaware-Lehigh Amateur Radio Club, Inc. He also enjoyed fishing.

Edward will be lovingly remembered by his wife Helen L. Poplasky of Bethlehem Township, two daughters Susan C. Fogel wife of Richard R. of Bethlehem Township and Julie A. Mostek wife of Gary of Center Valley, a son Lester O. Clore and wife Rosalyn of Bethlehem Township, two sisters Irene Blaso and husband Anthony of Kingston, PA and Eleanor DiGiamico of Swoyersville, PA ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Edward is predeceased by two brothers Raymond and Benjamin Poplasky and two sisters Hedwig Shabelski and Florence Makowski.



Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, Inc.245 East Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Monday, January 5, 2009 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday January 6, 2009 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, First St., Bethlehem Township, PA 18020 on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 10:00 AM

Entombment Bethlehem Memorial Park Mausoleum following Mass.
