Edward C. Wisser

Edward C. Wisser, 99 of Bethlehem died peacefully on Saturday June 8, 2013 in his home. Edward was the husband of the late Anna N. (Nemeth) Wisser who died in 1998. They were married 59 years.

Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Mathias and Anna (Repasch) Wisser. Edward has been a long time member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Bethlehem.

He retired in 1977 as Assistant Superintendent of the Production Mfg. division of the Bethlehem Steel after 44 years with the Steel. He was a member of the former Bethlehem Steel Club, the Bethlehem M.O.R.A and was a volunteer for the American Lung Association, Channel 39 Public TV, the Red Cross and various other non-profit organizations.

He will be dearly missed by his sons: Dr. Robert E. Wisser and his wife, Louise, of Bethlehem; and Dr. Kenneth J. Wisser and his wife, Susan, of Lansing, Michigan; his five grandchildren, Karen, Michael, Kathleen, Todd and Chad; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl; and his sister, Catherine Wiegner.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 10 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad St., Bethlehem, and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18017. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

Memorials may be made in Edward's name to St. Anne's Catholic Church or The Lehigh Valley Health Network Hospice Unit, 17th & Chew St., Allentown, PA 18104.
