Edward F. Lipsky, 86, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Holy Family Manor. He was born in Bethlehem on February 4, 1931; son of the late Jacob and Catherine (Grund) Lipsky. Edward is now reunited with his devoted wife of nearly 63 years, Doreen A. “Tootie” Lipsky; who preceded Edward in death just 16 days ago.
Edward proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. After over 30 years of service, Edward retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. where he worked as an engine repairman. Upon retirement, Edward worked as an assistant to the equipment manager at Lehigh University.
He enjoyed traveling; particularly to the mountains where he loved to fish, going out to dinner with his wife, and he especially loved spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and had a special bond with his grandchildren.
Edward will be dearly missed by his daughter, Kelly and husband, Michael Lutseo; son, Joseph Lipsky and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Tyler, Josh and wife, Cheryl, Desmarie and Daria; great grandchildren, Reese and Norah; sister, Dolores Cope and brother, Frank Lipsky. He was predeceased by his son, Edward, Jr.; brothers, Joseph, William “Perry”, Theodore, and Jacob, Jr. and his sister, Gertrude.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Service and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Manor, 1200 Spring St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 and/or The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014 to help find a cure for Parkinsons disease.
