Edward G. Morrison

Edward G Morrison, 84, passed away on September 5, 2021, at his residence. He was born on July 16, 1937, in Bethlehem, PA, one of 4 children to the late Leo and Grace (Gregory) Morrison. Ed was recently preceded by his beloved wife of 58 years Shirley A. Morrison. They were married in 1963 and formed their relationship five years prior.

Ed will be remembered as a quiet, reserved man who loved his wife, children, and granddaughter immensely. He took the role of caregiver to his wife for the last few years and was always at her side. A machinist by trade, Ed enjoyed fixing and building things from the smallest hand turned brass parts to entire buildings to house his various projects and toys.

Ed was a graduate of Liberty High School. Ed worked as a machinist and line mechanic for the Durkee Spice Plant in Bethlehem until his retirement in 1995. He was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

He will be dearly missed by his son, Edward M. Morrison and spouse, Stephanie C.; daughter, Kathleen Rodriguez; granddaughter, Sydney Morrison; sisters, Patricia D. Weaver and Lucille A. Kalman; as well as extended family and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his wife Shirley and brother Leo V. Jr.

Joint services will be held for Ed and Shirley. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
