Edward J. Poniktera, 87, of Palmerton and formerly of Bethlehem, died Saturday February 17, 2007. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Alexander and Anna Droze Poniktera. He was the husband of the late Sophie Harkovich Poniktera. He was employed by the Bethlehem Steel for 44 years, retiring in 1980 as a paint shop foreman. He was a veteran of the Army and served with the 656th Field Artillery during WWII. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Bethlehem.Survivors: daughter, Debra Cinamella and her husband Philip, companion, Louise Polenchar, three sisters, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Judy Mattison, and six brothers.Contributions: In lieu of flowers to the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Co., 2240 Fairyland Rd; Lehighton, PA 18235.
