Edward J. Sinko,Sr.

Edward J. Sinko, Sr., 77, of Bethlehem, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018. He was the son of the late Julia (Gaul) Freund and David D. Sinko. He was the loving husband of Sarah J. (Haldeman) Sinko.

Ed proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He graduated from Hellertown Lower Saucon High School in 1959. He worked as a carpenter at the Bethlehem Steel and later as head of maintenance at Pitt Ohio Trucking. Ed was a handyman and would often help his family and neighbors however he could. He enjoyed hunting, archery, golfing, tending to his flowers and bird feeders and cheering on Penn State football and the Eagles. He especially loved his dog, Heidi.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 38 years, Sarah Sinko; children, Edward J. Sinko, Jr., Michael Sinko and his wife, Wendy and Melanie Brown and her husband, Christopher and grandchildren, Ethan, Gabriel, Jillian, Devyn, Ryan, Matthew, Aiden, Gabrielle and Elise. Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Sinko.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 8:30-10:30AM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 in the funeral home. Burial will be held at Cedar Hill Memorial Park.
