Edward J. Szczepanski, Sr., 92, of Bethlehem, died peacefully in his home, on Sunday, January 25, 2015. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Apolonia (Wierzbicka) and Zigmund Szczepanski. He was the loving husband of the late Theresa (Csaszar) who died in 1993.
He was employed by the Bethlehem Steel working as a carpenter in the Steel Foundry for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and a current member of the Incarnation of Our Lord Parish. He courageously served with U.S. Army during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge with the 561st Field Artillery.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Edward J. Szczepanski, Jr.; daughter, Donna Szczepanski; brother-in-law, Carl Csaszar; many nieces & nephews; and his granddogs, Heidi & Ziggy. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph & Stanley; and sisters, Sr. Valeria Szczepanski, O.S.F. & Mary Kloiber.
A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian of Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Incarnation of Our Lord Church, 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem, 18015. Viewing hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Memorials may be made to the church.
