Edward Joseph Hassick, Sr., 90, died on January 19, 2023. He was born March 14, 1932, in Bethlehem, son of the late George and Susan (Risak) Hassick. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Ann Loretta (Fatebene) Hassick.
Edward was a graduate of Bethlehem Vo-Tech and played football for Liberty High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956, with fond memories of his time in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. He worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. and retired as a machinist in the No. 2 Machine Shop. He was a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
Edward will be lovingly remembered as a great man who always strived to do the right thing. He was a Penn State fan and above all loved his family.
Edward will be dearly missed by his wife, Ann; daughter, Judy Hassick; son, Edward Joseph Hassick, Jr. and his wife, Roseann; grandchildren, Edward Joseph Hassick, III and his wife, Gina; Coriann Hassick and fianc, Giulio; and Michael Hassick; great grandchildren, Jace, Weston, and Riley Hassick; and sister, Suzanne Finn. He was preceded in death by his siblings, George, Paul, Irene, and Ann.
A funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Mike Button on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The burial will be private.
