Edward Joseph Shields

Edward Joseph Shields, 97, of Northampton, PA passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 at his home in Northampton, PA. Born March 8, 1914 in McAdoo, PA he was the son of the late Anna V. McDevitt and William A. Shields.

Edward worked for the Fuller Company for 24 years as a draftsman retiring in 1979. Prior to working for the Fuller Company he worked for the American Car and Foundry as a draftsman. Edward proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.

He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, William Shields and John Shields, sisters, Rose Meehan, Mary McElwee, Lillian Dill and Anna Ladnier.

SERVICES

A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at All Saints Catholic Church 36 E. Washington St. McAdoo, PA 18237 from !2-12:30 PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in McAdoo.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Edward's name to All Saints Catholic Church 36 E. Washington St. McAdoo, PA 18237 or Assumption BVM Catholic Church 2174 Lincoln Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.
