Edward J. Ortelli of Newark, Ohio passed away peacefully November 21, 2024 at his home, Courtyard of Newark, at the age of 94 under the care of Hospice and the wonderful staff at the Courtyard. 

He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Edward and Frances (Duffy) Ortelli. Also, preceding him in death was the love of his life and wife of 44 years Jean Hays Ortelli. He was later married to Bella Ortelli and they celebrated 23 years together until her death in June of 2024. His brother Joseph Ortelli and sister Anna Ortelli Haney also preceded him in death.

Edward was loving husband, father and grandfather and is survived by sons Edward (Michelle) Ortelli of St Augustine, FL, Timothy (Tracy) Ortelli of Tarpon Springs, FL, daughters Susan Byrne of Worthington, OH and Debra (Scott) Cartnal of Newark, OH. He also leaves ten grandchildren Kelsey (Erik) Katz, Alex Ortelli, Bethany (Sam) Badders, Andrew Ortelli, Olivia Ortelli, Marissa (Raymond) Parker, Colleen (Theo) Pinson, Reid Cartnal, Alison Cartnal and Bryce Cartnal as well as five great grandchildren Alana and Jaylen Pinson, Ayla Parker, Evelyn Badders and Holiday Katz. 

After graduating from Phillipsburg Catholic High School in 1947 he attended Perkiomen Prep before he joined the Marines and served in the Korean War where he was awarded a Purple Heart. He attended and played football at Villanova University where he graduated in 1956 with a degree in Business Administration. 

Edward was an accountant for various companies throughout his career and retired from Waverly Witco Oil Company in 1994. 

He was a member of Rotary International and Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight and Grand Knight. He was also a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bethlehem, PA. 

Edward will be cremated and his cremated remains will be taken back to Easton, PA where he will be buried next to his 1st wife. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be offered at www.connellfuneral.com
