Edward Vincent Willey, age 90, of Bethlehem, died on August 8, 2011 in Bethlehem, Pa. He was the husband of the late Margaret Terr Willey. They were married for 59 years. He was a repairman in the Coke Oven Division of Bethlehem Steel for 27 years until his retirement in 1982. He was the son of the late Jeremiah Willey and Mary Laughlin Willey. He was an Army veteran of World War two serving in the Pacific Theatre with the 1296th Combat Engineers in the Philippine Islands. Ed was a member of St. Ursula's Church and a past president of their Holy Name Society, a member of the Fountain Hill Exchange Club, and the Golden Hillers. Mr. Willey was an avid fisherman and a bicyclist and an Honorary member of the 101st Combat Engineer Battalion. Ed helped many Alcoholics in his 57 years of recovery and fellowship.
Survivors: Edward Jr. of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey, Thomas of Bethlehem and Eileen and her husband, Scott, of Houston, Texas, two grandchildren, James Willey and Lorraine Singleton and many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all of his wonderful friends for everything they have done for him over the years.
Viewing hours will be held, in the funeral home, on Thursday August 11th from 7 to 9 p.m. A viewing will be held in the St. Ursula's Church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery Bethlehem.
